Brian Staples - great place, Italy
I enjoyed a magical week just outside Florence a couple of years ago, followed by several days' mountain trekking near Pisa.
Umbria, of course, is home to Italy's Slow Food movement which, I hope, will prevent America's fast-food purveyors from gaining too much of a foothold.
Yes, I can well understand why you'd like to move to Italy.

GAY? an Insult? WHATEVER.
And what is wrong with being GAY! what's up with that. As if it were a real insult. It's only an insult if you think that it's discusting. It's not discusting and has been around for as long as humans has roamed the planet.
Get something better than that. Last time I checked "Gay" meant in the dictionary, happy.
(FROM dictionary.com: Middle English gai, lighthearted, brightly colored, from Old French, possibly of Germanic origin.
adj 1: bright and pleasant; promoting a feeling of cheer; "a cheery hello"; "a gay sunny room"; "a sunny smile" [syn: cheery, sunny] 2: full of or showing high-spirited merriment; "when hearts were young and gay"; "a poet could not but be gay, in such a jocund company"- Wordsworth; "the jolly crowd at the reunion"; "jolly old Saint Nick"; "a jovial old gentleman"; "have a merry Christmas"; "peals of merry laughter"; "a mirthful laugh")

Yes. And Being American SUCKS sometimes
Especially when an American sees things from very many facets that the truth comes out. America has been founded on BS. Opinionated on BS with BS and. Uses BS to get what she wants and pukes the rest on everyone, which is still BS!
First of all. LIMEY IS RIGHT. We Americans are at at high point. WE know it and we are going to trample everyone and everything to get what "WE" want. It's disgusting, CONSUMERS of the world we are. We don't care about anyone or anything as long as everything is CHEAP for us and we can go where we want whenever we want.
What pisses me off the most is that our "PRESIDENT" represents us ALL! He is nothing to me. I didn't vote for him. And I have a distinct feeling that this administration is nothing more than a lie and has been hijacked by an idiot puppet controlled by someone else less conspicous and his arogant wife who has never been a REAL teacher. Their daughter doesn't even match up to the high standards her own father put on teachers with the "No child Left Behind Act."
I wish I could live in Italy. I wish sometimes I was an Italian. Mostly because I've met many of them personally through my dad's work. He is a project manager for NASA here in Alabama.
Take me for what I am. A PISSED off AMERICAN that thinks his country could do better if we didn't have such an arogant, born-again Christian!

Those sexy Brits
Ariala.
If all Britons were gay most of the English-speaking world wouldn't exist. Which means millions of Americans alive today are here only because of us. Clearly, our potency is never in question: but yours might be.

And would you believe that to us Americans sound thick? It's a funny old world, as Margaret Thatcher used to say!

Limey,
They are a "nasty" bunch as well! They really believe they are the solution not the problem. Informing Americans only makes them more ornery? A strange bunch of humanity?

Too straight for Hollywood, perhaps?
A visit to your neck of the woods would be a nice - and a refreshing change from New York. I might well take you up on your invitation. Thanks.

And they could also have said it more accurately, eg:
- have helped save many arses in Europe while helping save many more in the meantime.
Cheers! as we like to say over here.

I would also love to add a few points, but the list must remain untouched. As I explained, it was part of a research project - therefore American bloggers' views will make most interesting reading.

Limey. No I did no such thing. I simply said we would never call
others all those names. If we did such a thing we would be what you called us. You know perfectly well what I said. You just want attention. You apparently are blind to your own rudeness. I am sorry I have ancestors from GB. They were very nice people, not at all the way you are.

Justsouno - the truth is out
I didn't prepare the list, as you'll discover if you read the post more carefully.
However, the really astonishing thing is your response - for not only do you accept the shortcomings but, it would seem, look on them as a badge of honour.
Extraordinary. Because these are the very traits that make so many Europeans, Britons included, hate Americans.

You poor fellow.
In America we would consider ourselves to be all you have named if we should ever be so crass as to make such a list and post it about any country in the world. I don't hate you. I feel sorry for you.
