NORSEMAN
...GOOD THOUGHT-PROVOKING QUESTION !! FIRST MEETINGS CAN BE DECEIVING. REALLY KNOWING A PERSON TAKES TIME.   TRUST BUT VERIFY.

I have experienced this with ppl many times
"Have you ever met a person and instantly knew you liked them...or didn't like them?" i can't explain why...there are some kind of people you like or love at first sight...maybe because they are a reflection of ourselves in some way...

Alf - Good post. My preferences have changed over the years and
seem to be influenced by my reaction to someone else I met and liked or disliked of similar coloring. A knee-jerk reaction. I try to get to know someone before I decide if I really hate them.

Thanks Norseman...I'll be okay as long as..
I can get to the chiropractor today. I have a terrible backache from that bar that runs across the fold-out couch. Why DO they put those in there?????

Thanks Norseman...I'm not taking him in so much as....
He is rescuing me. I've been crying alot but it's therapeutic. I'm sorting my life out; a job that I've put off for too long.

Passionflower...are you kidding? I have seen every episode,
That one is a classic!  Good of you to take him in though.  I hope all goes smoothly with the "closure thingy".

Norseman, what I'm doing awake at this hour is a long, ugly story
That somehow ends with my ex-husband returning home. I think God sent him back so we could have some kind of 'closure' thingy. Anyway, I just sold the twin bed in my guest room about a month ago, so he's in my Select Comfort Airbead and I'm sleeping on the fold-out couch. Did you ever see that episode of Seinfeld where he goes to Boca to stay with his folks and tries to sleep on their fold-out couch, but it has this bar that presses him in the back all night and he wakes up sore the next morning?

Passionflower...
Thanks for bringing that up.  Excellant point that I had forgotten about.  It does not address preferences of other kinds but is nonetheless very intriguing.  What am I doing up so late??  It's only 11:20 here, I don't usually go to sleep until after 1:00.  What are you doing up???

I've heard the theory that...

We knew these people in a former life. One was a favourite uncle; you love the guy instantly. Another was a woman who took your husband; you hate her instantly. Still another was your sister; you know her immediately.

I'm on a Journey of Discovery myself and I've met quite a few people in the past 5 mos that I'm certain are in my life by divine appointment. A few of those, the moment I met them, I knew exactly who they were.

One of those is Tara, a girlfriend. I'll never forget the night I met her. I'd just gotten home from PR and months on the road working hurricanes. She was there at my best friends house. We started talking. Pretty soon we were finishing each other's sentences, then we were trading intimate, personal information. By the end of the evening, we were hugging and crying. It was freaky.

BTW, what are doing awake this time of night?
