It sounds like you learned a lot from your past mistakes. No marriage is guaranteed as is nothing in life.

whim - it's always a good feeling to understand who we are...
sounds like you've been through a lot of soul searching to get to that place.

Good Insight.  We do get wiser as we get older.

I SUPPOSE WE ARE KINDERED SOULS

Been there--done that and all I can say is: 'you changed, he didn't' is not the problem, it is the reason you live the life you now know.  And it's kinda trippy cuz I just blooged about my five year goal back in my college days. Soooooooooo trivial.....yet  soooooo important and huge back then. And yes, it is always fun to look back at where we've come from, where we curently stand and what the horizon looks like for tomorrow.

That's all well and good

but don't we all wake up  some morning at Oh-dark hundred hours craving some Fritos, a RC cola, maybe some cracklin's (chicharrones), or, God help us, CheezWhiz!

It's nice to be able to "slum", since that implies we're above it, finally!!

And  no matter what they say, all othger things being equal, it's nice not to live in uncertainty.
