and the possibility of this YHVH today walking as a person...

among other persons?

I think it  is possible.  As a mother I know that if my kids are being particularly unruly, I do not leave them for long periods of time without checking up on them...

Painter -
I think YHVH does walk today. At least those who have reached a state of union while still alive do walk today. YHVH as a single entity walking through Manhattan? I'm not sure. Though he/she does on Joan of Arcardia.

Oh, God is God is God...  put Him in a beard, He is God, take the beard off, He is God.  How many disguises could one limit God to, when He is Everything?  There are some great old texts that were not included in the bible because the Church Father's threw them out when putting the bible together.  In them, it tells how the disciples actually saw Jesus as a different person.  Simon called Peter and Andrew both saw a different man as Jesus called them from the shore.  One saw an old man and the other saw a young man.  And later in the text one of the disciples went on to explain that Jesus' appearance might change as He stood in front of him - even His texture - He could be soft at one moment (physically) and the next hard like a stone.

One of my favorite teaching stories about the descriptions of God is a Rumi poem that talks of 5 blindfolded men going into a room to "see" an elephant for the first time.  Of course, these men all had different descriptions... one said it was a great beast, like a wall - one disagreed saying that it was a thin beast like a snake (the tail) , one said it was a soft, furry, fan like beast (ear) and one said it was a hard pointy beast (tusk)..

Do you know anyone who can reach their arms all the way around God and tell you exactly Who God is?
