If you haven't read through the book of Romans lately, why not do so.   It's truth's will be a blessing to you, and its historical background would be of benefit to your child's homeschooling!

Interesting the path your thougths take there.  I've been reading more and more of the encyclopedia.  Maybe Rome is a good topic to look up.  (Also part of my project to homeschool my son...)

Ariala, you are right no man or woman, not even the pope, but there is a great heritage of faith in Rome, that we must not miss -- Paul wrote it this way, "I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong -- that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by eah other's faith." Rom 1:11,12

I think that Pope was a really good man. God uses Jesus and people definitely, but it's the Holy Spirit who brings saving conviction... I guess... who really knows? Life's such a mystery...

In my experience, no man, woman or child can do that, especially not
the Pope.

Ariala, but can they give you a life-changing, soul saving, spirit sustaining faith faith in the living God and His son, Jesus Christ.

Ghandi, the Dali Lama and Ayn Rand are much more interesting.
