Whim - it's a shame but it happens all the time even here in the
country. I found the best alarm is Thumper barking --at least the neighbors get aggravated enough to see what the problem is--inadvertently anyway when they decide to bith about it!

Many home alarms go to a receiving office...unless they don't!
But, really, it's damned hard to concentrate on disconnecting all those speaker wires and USB cables with all that noise and I usually just go for the silverware and guns as a rule!
Just kidding
While they were on a trip, my neighbor's went off in February during a driving rain. I called it in (no, the police hadn't been notified, the neighbors stopped paying the alarm company for nonexistent service), the police showed up ikn five minutes, and all was resolved.
You done good!
