Yeah, brianne, it gets hot as hell here. But I love the place. So many
things to do; so many different places to eat.  Farmer's markets.  Just three hours from Savannah and the beach.  Atlanta is hot...

Man oh Man
Was it HOTTTTTTT when I was there!  The I-85 and I-75 became my best friend as I traveled between my hotel in Midtown to the Riverdale highway to pick up my ex...  I really wish I had been there when it wasn't so hot.  I didn't do anything.... =( Really wanted to see the Martin Luther King Jr. Center too.

You are right in that police often do not give the media everything,
especially the scoop of an impending arrest (unless they already know that person has been taken into custody or the situation is nearly a done deal).  The public does have a right to know, but sometimes it is best that they know after the fact...

Re: It's not so bad, Damond, except that there tends to be some violence

I suspect that sometimes when the cops say they don't have any leads it's to throw the criminals off anyway.  Because, the cops know the news people aren't going to hold anything back to help them catch the guilty ones so if they say no clue they might stand a chance of slipping up on them.  Well that's  just my opinion.  I have noticed that a few times shortly after saying there was no clues there would be an arrest is what makes me think that.

But about Six Flags, someone that was out that direction on vacation a year or two ago told me that and didn't go to it for that very reason.

It's not so bad, Damond, except that there tends to be some violence
among the kids hanging out around the gates.  Gang-related, they say.  Of course, they say that when they get a bunch of kids together in one place these days - and they begin fighting.  It's like a shooting incident.  When they don't know anything, some dumbass says, instead of "there are no leads", drugs or drug-involvement are suspected.  Uh-huh...

Re: It's the same, Damond. Speaking of the 85 and 75 deal, how about 20

You are right!  I tend to forget about I-20, because I didn't use it through Atlanta much.  When I was on it was more toward Mablevale and out that direction.

I hear that Six Flags is in really sad condition now days.  Is that true?  When I lived out there, it was fairly new and still kept in good shape.

It's the same, Damond. Speaking of the 85 and 75 deal, how about 20
coming through at the bottom of the city with those one and two-lane entrance ramps?  Now, that's ridiculous.

Re: You're right, Damond. My fiance (who is now my wife) told me that

I-285 was an excellent idea have the loop all the way around the city, but 85 and 75 running right though the middle of the city together is the most stupid thing that I ever heard of.  What do you reckon ever possessed them that made them do that?

You are right too a person has to learn the shortcuts and quick if he/she wants to get anywhere very quick in that traffic.  The last time I was there they had five lanes going each direction on I-285.  How many are there now?

You're right, Damond. My fiance (who is now my wife) told me that
Atlanta traffic would take some getting used to (when we were moving from Richmond to Atlanta), but I never had a problem with it (except for the rush-hour gridlock on a six-lane highway -- how the hell does that happen?).  She drives like a lead-footed maniac in a hurry to go nowhere (like most Atlantans).  I drive five miles over the speed limit, rarely go past the third lane, know every short-cut between here and hell, and I don't have too much problems with it.  She's lived here about 10 years of her life (I just celebrated two years here the last day of July) and she still can't understand how I drive slower than she does (she averages 80 mph, I average 70) and still beat her home most of the time.

the spaghetti junction is something to see.

The spaghetti junction is something to see alright.  It is the only intersection of its kind that I remember seeing anywhere.  Twists and turns, but it really is hard to get messed up on.  I only ever got in the wrong lane once and was going to fast to change back, because like you say if you slow down you will get crowned, and not like in queen for a day either.

With the housing market slumping, sue, and indicators pointing to more of
the same, you may be in luck for the next few years.  Prices are sure to fall.  However, at the same time, lending rates will assuredly increase, so...

I love Atlanta, too, star4you. I happen to live right outside Atlanta now,
so if I want to visit, I can travel south for fifteen minutes on any highway I choose to visit the ATL.
