Well, Glennb, one thing we can agree on is the need for a living will!

JanesOpinion,

Well stated from your point of view! But I am certain that I would not want outside interference if I were in a similar condition! You fail to recognize that if both parties were in agreement as to Terri's "will" we would not be at this point. The courts settled that it was her will! I do not know her husband nor her parents but I saw love from both sides. The outcome was just in my view!

We have a Constitution in the United States of America! Read it before you suggest that George Bush is within his authority to invade a foreign Nation! Life is complex it does not follow a movie script!

Bad comparison, glennb

Yes, there are many people dying of hunger/thirst because of awful political situations, abuse, and for a variety of other reasons.  Terri only required food and water, and that was taken away from her.  Furthermore, her husband (conveniently, it would seem to me) coughed up a statement several years after her head injury asserting she stated she would not want to live like this.  This was "corroborated" by HIS brother.  How convenient.  So you're telling me you are so naive that you believe what he said?  And you call me a bleeding heart?

To compare Terri's situation with what Pres Bush has done is ridiculous and stupid.  Bush has done what he possibly can to protect this country (and I do not agree with him on everything) and one way he's done it is to go on the offensive against radical Islam.  There have been many deaths, and we must never forget those.  But they have occurred during a battle against those who would kill all Christians, Jews and even those who are not radicals such as themselves.  If we allow ourselves to be weak and apathetic in our actions, they will walk all over us and take over this country.  How many mosques are already in this country?  10,000? Give or take a few?  The majority are not radical, for sure, but they sure have done relatively little to even verbally stand up against the radicals.

On an interesting side note.  If I remember correctly, your "about you" page states that you are a "So Baptist."  If I am correct, and assuming I interpreted this right, you sure do spew a lot of verbiage and hate for one who is supposed to be a Christian. As a reminder to you (and me!) the Bible reminds us that they will know we are Christians by our LOVE. That includes the written word.  I have not seen much kindness, thoughtfulness, gentleness or love in your comments.  Having said all that, I would also point the finger back at myself.  There's an ongoing battle in my own heart as I write and try to stand firm on my convictions while also showing love. I often fall short . . . .  Anyway, just an observation.

JanesOpinion,
There are people all over the Planet with intact faculties dying of hunger and thirst! George Bush has killed a lot more humanity! All of these "bleeding hearts" are nothing but ghoulish opportunist. You included! The case was about what Terri wanted Remember? Should she have the last will? May God take her Soul in Peace. Her body goes back to Earth!

Write on, RSM --
and I shall read and think about and appreciate what you have to say.  This is not something we CAN or SHOULD forget about any time soon.

Excellent Post!
My argument the whole time. LISTEN PEOPLE, THERE ARE TOO MANY QUESTIONS, TOO MANY QUESTIONABLE ACTS, TOO MANY DOUBTS AND MOTIVES NOT TO HAVE GIVEN IT ANOTHER LOOK AND TO HAVE LET HER LIVE WHILE THEY INVESTIGATED IT MORE. Then there is the whole question of choosing to actually starve someone to death. What a method of choice! Now we hear of Michael's funeral plans!? Even after she is dead he still wants to deny the parents the common decency of saying bye to their own daughter!? Michael is guilty of trying to kill her. Who would go to these measures to cover up the attempt? GET REAL PEOPLE! WERE YOU BORN YESTERDAY? Sorry, I realize that most of you on this comment page agree but I am emotional about this for a good reason and yes I will be talking about this for a long time on here. If you don't like then don't read it.

FactorFiction -- thanks for stopping by. I completely agree!

JaneO I am sorry I meant to comment
also but about your post, didn't mean to get sidetracked on the nurse deal, I was just giving you some info, But as far as your post I agree the husband has to stop his stupid kids games, these people lost a daughter and now it is time to lay her to rest.

Okay I have not commented at all about this I believe...
and I don't claim to know all about it, but the mere fact that the husband won't tell her _parents_ where/when she will be laid to rest is absolutely horrific. I don't care what his excuse is for it- it is plainly spiteful and immature and lots of other words but too many to list... ok all done!

No gripe I just was giving a comment on the two nurses
from what I had read they had never been registered nurses in Florida that could be some of the reason that their testimony was rejected.

And I whole heartedly agree with you Justsouno.
Amen, Sistah!

Hey Scoop,

I would think it would not matter if they were registered in FL or not.  I used to work in IN and had an RN license for that state, but let it lapse after moving to Michigan.  So the nurses interviewed by Hannity and Colmes could have easily been licensed in the state of FL -- and then perhaps moved on to some other state.  It's not uncommon to let one license expire (pain in the neck to maintain for multiple states), as long as you don't let them ALL expire.  Then you've got to take the test over again.  No thanks!

Was that your gripe?  Or have I misunderstood your comment?

Janes this man is an abuser, he has all the marks. The courts have upheld
murder. People have sanctioned such actions. They said she died in the arms of her loving husband, what a bunch of bunk. Please check out this info from Scoop that is most interesting. Nice article. It appears to me any human with any form of decency would have done as you suggest in this article.

AJ here is an interesting item for you being a nurse you may want to check
I had seen an investigation about the three nurses interviewed on Hannity and Colmes and only one according to Florida records was registered in Florida. Sorry I don't have the info anymore but I believe there is site you can go to check the records in Florida of licensed individuals, most states have them.

Amen and Amen!  Your idea of sending him to an x-wives club is most appropriate!!! Thanks for sharing.

Jane
The right thing for this freak of a husband would be to give her to the parents in death. Instead he is going to creamate her. He is nothing but a selfish bastard who deserves to be at the mercy of the X wives club...real piece of work that one is...

Oh please, chris

what sort of caustic and hateful comment is that?  Have you read my previous blogs?  I care deeply about the whole damn situation, have shed tears over it, have been passionate about it . . . .

It's heartless people like you whose integrity and concern I question.  You should be ashamed of yourself.

It's not your problem, there's nothing you can do to change it...
the chances are you didn't care about it until the television told you about it, so perhaps it's time to forget about it and let it go.

We will be talking about Terri and Pope John Paul for many days ahead, and we all might learn more than we thought we ever could.
