Yes! Yes! and Yes! Great post... many great points - do not judge you are not perfect... and the comment, "you have not failed enough" is so right on. The more I fail, the more compassion I find for others... the more fallible I find myself, the more I understand others foibles. The first thing God told us to do was to love God and the second thing He told us to do was love our neighbors as ourselves... when Jesus asked Paul if Paul loved Him, Jesus said "feed my sheep"... there are only two ways to feed folks, with food (which can leave you feeling still empty) and love. You are on the right track. ~Metta

fwmystic...
Thank you for reading! I'm not sure it's totally true that they are anxious to throw everyone in hell. I think actually it's just a lot of anxiety caused by feelings of guilt and responsibility. I think many are like what you mentioned but remember a lot of them are just normal people like me trying to figure out how to navigate life in a world that seems completely contrary to what you believe you are meant for. Yes, they (we) are and have been often too afraid of our bodies and emotions, etc. That's something, it would be nice, if someone figured out how to prevent the causes of that! lol. I also think, however, it's part of human nature sometimes to respond to deep-rooted beliefs this way...by being extreme and not knowing how to reconcile parts of your own humanity. I think lots of people commit to other kinds of causes or paradigms of belief (just the way you view the world and yourself in it) that cause them to ignore and misunderstand other parts of themselves. I've met some people like that who weren't even religious. For some people, it's their job or career or some idea of success. And other things...

What a great post ...
I think these so-called Christians forget that their Jesus came down to minister to the sinners, not the holier than thou. What scares me about them is how frightened they are of life, of their body, of their emotions, of their desires. They can't wait to get to heaven and throw everyone else in hell.

thanks.
Glad, Ariala, that people are used to you doing that. With my friends it was kind of the same. They knew me well enough to know I was serious, but also knew I was down to earth.

Well, people who have read me for a while know I struggle big time,
question everything and doubt even my own beliefs. It's part of being human and honest about our lack of knowing the whole picture. Good post.
