Dr. G: I'm not minimizing the importance of your always extremely well written postings, but I want to offer up an alternative to over-the-counter substances for heartburn.
When I overeat I first do what some good doctor wrote years ago that I have never forgotten, and which has served me well. He wrote; "When you have a sour stomach, generate and swallow (frequently) as much saliva as you can". A surprising percentage of the time this process just washes the acids from the esophagus...it really works! When it doesn't, I go to my homeopathic kit and place three tiny little white Nux Vomica sugar-pills (100 to 1 to the minus 30th power) on my tongue to melt (no water) and that is all there is to that! I truly enjoy your postings.
