Many of the things we women do to our bodies in the name of controlling...

our weight is not healthy. I threw out my skinny clothes after the gastric bypass. I am down to 300 pounds (sometimes I drop to 295) and I have decided that I am not dieting anymore. Saves on closet space and work

A lot of good information and suggestions here, Goddess.   I have been one of those yo-yo's all my life (which is not healthy by the way) so I keep my closet organized by size.

Glad I could help Darrke...

about the buttons, mens shirts are made with extra width through the chest and upper stomach which translates to extra room for your breasts. If you still think you won't have enough room buy a shirt one size bigger than you would normally wear.

My heart goes out to you Whammy

I did not always have this outlook. I have spent most of my life believing the garbage that my family and society tried to instill in meabout my size. I nearly lost my life having a weight loss surgury and although I lost over 100 pounds,  I am still a big woman but I am now an unhealthy woman because of the extreme measures I took to lose the weight. When you nearly die it changes your outlook on things. I understnad how awful the need to fit the mold is. And that six pounds weighs just as hard on you as 425 pounds weighed on me. I petition the Goddess that you find the peace and self esteem to forgive yourself the six pounds so you can live a happier life. Weight issues are so hard. I am sending you a big hug

Thanks so much for the tips!  Buying clothes is always a trial for me.  Walmart is the only place in town that even carries clothes, and whoever picks out the plus sizes has a taste for the hideous!  I've had good luck with sweaters this year, and am getting more used to the elastic-waisted polyester pants.  The pants are usually too short.  I'm short, but have long legs.  I'll check out the men's section next time I'm looking though...

One thing I've always had to avoid is shirts with buttons...it seems like no matter how big the shirt is, the buttons are always in the wrong place to keep things covered.

MG,

You have made some very good points in these latest posts.  I have not said anything because I feel like it is inappropriate for me to comment.

A huge component of sexiness is self-acceptance, and I am full of self-loathing because I want to lost 6 pounds, so I can step on the scale at my chosen weight for myself.

I know nothing about being plus-sized, but I know plenty about feeling fat, and sometimes it really beats me down.  I don't look half bad, but I carry that constant pressure that I could look better, if I only ran a little more, worked my abs a little harder, did not eat that last meal, and just lost those five damned pounds.

I think your attitude is probably a lot healthier than mine!
