Thanks for your words of encouragement. I guess the other thing I need to do with my poems is actually go back, re-read and re-edit. All of the stuff I've posted on here are raw as in written on the fly and posted directly to blogit.

Pickles...
Your poems don't suck at all, honestly!! I don't write very many of them myself and was really only going to write the one for my son. Then all of the sudden, I thought up one in memory of my great-granddad. I've had this one in my head for several years, but was too chicken to write it down until recently. I'm so happy my new friends like it!! (I truly consider you one of them).
Please don't delete your poetry blog....At least not yet. You may not always like the end results of your work, but I think that's true for most of us who write here. I know it's definitely true of me!! I can't tell you how many rough drafts I've scrapped before they're finished...I don't like the sound of them, and so forth and so on...But if you don't keep at it, you'll never know for sure what brilliant pieces you can come up with!!
I hope this helps to encourage you...In the end, the decision is yours alone of course...But please don't give up on your poems just yet...I really liked it, and I wouldn't just say that to make you feel better!! I hope you'll give me and others here a chance to read more of them.

I visited another one of your poems yesterday I think it was, but missed this one - it was a bit hard to find. I loved the images this poem gave me. My poetry sucks - I'm not a poet, but I'm working on it. There are a few people who seem to like it - but I haven't decided whether to keep that blog or not - it's an effort to write and I'm not always pleased with the end sresults. Possibly a good reason to keep on trying though...

I've never actually been to Ireland myself. I am of Irish decent, though. Not sure if we're from the North or South. I miss all my Irish friends.

Lady, beautiful poem about a beautiful place. I miss Ireland too. Used to go there on my weekends off while living in UK. She sure is pretty one..
