i recall a statment once that intimated at the perception that until we are wiser, we cannot see the wisdom of our parents. not until I walked in my dad's shoes did i fully appreciate what he did.

you're speaking the truth. just this morning i was thinking about him on the way home, and i passed a cross, a roadside memorial by a bridge. on it was engraved the words 'daddy'. i believe spirit communicates to us regularly, if we would listen and not doubt.

you're right. we don't know the gift of loss until we see past the pain it gives us when it happens.

Avant -
I know it's a cliche' but your Dad isn't gone, he's just moved to another level. He's as close as you want him to be and as easy to get to as a dream.

And hang on to the good memories.

I'm sorry for your loss,
it sounds as if you had a wonderful father. What you said about him reminds me of my dad. He's still living, but after having lost our mom 9 years ago, my siblings and I treasure him even more.
