Good suggestion, Diversion4u.
There are plenty of Asian restauranteurs salivating at the thought, I'm sure.  And if you think that is politically incorrect (not you Diversion4u; you proved that doesn't bother you), save it.  My people also have a history of enjoying an occasional dog (or five, if they happened to be Shitzu or Chihuahua).

Kill them all and let god sort them out
I think the whole species should be illiminated. That may seem harsh, but I'm tired dogs having rights while people get pushed to the wayside. Plus, think of all the people we could feed with all that meat...oh I went too far!

You know, HolyGrail,
I forgot old Petie was a pit bull.  Still, I hate the breed.  Plenty of others for love and companionship, and not quite so damned ugly.  But I am total agreement with you on owners who condition the dogs to hate and kill.  Putting down a few of these subhumans wouldn't be a bad thing.

I couldn't disagree more.  They can certainly be extremely dangerous because of their powerful jaws, but they are only dangerous when people make them that way.  They do NOT all deserve to be put down.  The people who turn them into killers do deserve that, however.  Having volunteered at an animal shelter for 5 1/2 years and seen literally hundreds of sweet, adorable pits come thoguh the doors, I can speak from actual experience and vouch for their true nature. The pit my sister adopted is the sweetest, most docile animal in the world, and 100% safe around kids.  Of course the newspapers never write about pits like her, which are the majority. People forget that Petie from the Little Rascals was a pit bull.

Yes, darkeyeddemon,
not a breed I'd recommend for the next Westminster Show.  Of course, a pit in the competition would lend a new twist to the phrase "eliminating his competition."

you know...
I agree with you. whole heartedly. Domesticating can't erase instinct. why would you bring a chainsaw with legs home to protect your children? Many people, sadly enough, want the things as a status symbol or show piece. "My dog can kick your dog's ass" Hmm.. guess what Mr. Pit Bull Owner, I have a 40 cal that can splatter your prized mutt  into pate if he even looks at me funny. But the next person he encounters might be the one he bites, and they will most likely not be prepared to deal with you and your prized teeth and steel jaws. I firmly believe the breed is important, use them for security, whatever. But integrating them into the mainstream of domesticated pets is a ticking bomb.
