Paul's statement

to prove all things is the scientific method

you have a hypothesis and you test its validity

if it proves valid, then you can accept its validity.

Maybe I'm thick,
but I'm not sure what you are saying here. Please explain.

"About [the foundation of Christian faith] we have much to say, and it is difficult to explain, for you have become sluggish in hearing. Although you should be teachers by this time, you need to have someone teach you again the basic elements of the utterences of God. You need milk, and not solid food. Everyone who lives on milk lacks experience of the word of righteousness, for he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties are trained by practice to discern good and evil."

good post, EHP
we can find a lot of truth in the bible, though we may not attest to using it as an end-all to guide our lives. i was brought up in a strict, dogmatic church that brooked no offense to what the bible told us to do. my only question was, whose interpretation is this, anyway? it wasn't until i abandoned all forms of organized religion twelve years ago that i began to understand the truth that was in it. now i have a better understanding of the bible, as well as the need to love everyone and forgive those whom we believe 'trespass against us.' it is simply not real.

you do provide evidence.

I need something to go with my morning coffee.

And I know you support gay rights, but have you read what Paul says
on that subject?

I find it ironic that you choose to quote Paul from the Bible, a Christian
source, to try to contradict what I wrote when all I suggested was to be open to possibilities. I didn't say embrace myths.  You are limited if you can't see what I'm saying...what a disappointment, dad.
