Purple Corn too???

Mike's favorite color is purple. I'll get some corn and sweet potatoes and he'll be in heaven

Yes indeed, they are purple coloured inside! At first I didn't like the sight of it but they tasted sooooo sweet! Mind you, they have 53 different sorts of corn there as well, and even some corns are purple coloured too. Saw it with my own eyes!! Amazing country!

Purple Sweet Potatoes...

That's a new one on me...I will have to find those. Probably have to go to the specialty grocer in Downtown Charleston (About 40 miles away..Summerville is on the edge of the boonies) If I can get a few I can use the eyes to plant more then I will have a spectacular stash of purple sweet potatoes to "experiment" with

Hey Renny...Glad you liked them...

try the foil bags if you want to do them indoors...don't know where you are. Witchy says she has too much snow for a campfire

Hey Voyager...

Do you like sweet potatoes? If so, I am ready to send your tummy into fits. Flea market went well...made $75... a good haul for a Sunday.I will tell you more in Research Central... It was a banner people watching day.

Hey Witchy!

I tell ya, if the did not have the tin foil bags they are easy to construct. Make an envelope with tinfoils, put your yummies in and crimp to seal... cheaper than the premade bags. As to snow and campfires, I have never had the pleasure... This is SC. I have seen snow three times in 40 years. So please send me a snowball

BTW...which oatmeal are you making? I have the crockpot going with Rum Soaked Sweet Potatoes...I will post the recipe

Glad you mentioned the foil bags,

which I haven't seen yet, but it will save me from building a fire in the backyard tomorrow.  Wouldn't be easy, since we got another couple of inches of snow the other day, and I think more is coming.  It's kind of like Girl Scout campout food, and that always tastes good.  Thanks!

P.S.  I've got oatmeal in the crockpot again tonight.

The new tin foil bags...

make doing these in the oven very easy. That's what I use indoors. As for why Voyager is awake... he's in love with my cooking and it's causing him to lose sleep

Mike's-

have you ever tried altering them for the oven? I have made a few things in foil in the oven and am always looking for new easy ideas.

And what is Voyager doing awake at 3:40 AM??

Lisa...

defintely give these a try. Non are gourmet but they are all yummy. Even today (we made them tonight... I was melancholy. Craig's been gone 10 years and some days I still half expect him to just pick up the phone and call me) they are still good, even with a more sophisticated adult palette.

Bring your bug spray though...the bugs like tine foil dinners too
