High prices could be a good thing...teaches people to be more conservative - buy more fuel effecient cars, plan their trips better, etc. I think it would be great if we weren't so dependent on foreign oil, but I think if we learn to control ourselves that we could make that Alaskan oil last a whole lot longer too.
