Voyager don't even say the words sinus infection- the scourge of modern day office workers destined to rebreathe the same mold and mites and crud until your head and teeth feel they are going to blow.
Only cure is prevention- drink lots of water, snort water up the nose ( in the fashion of learning to swim) and get rest.

There are external applications which claim to boost the immune system. Aromatherapy pre-mixed rub on oils for instance.

Yes loanlady,

I certainly did, no joke here. It was aweful. It went away thanks to the medication I got from the doctor's. I caught it while I was living in Pakistan for two years. The doctor said I could've had it since we had first arrived there and something aggrivated it. It's a good thing it showed itself before we left. The doctor gave me specific typhoid pills and a food regimen until I got better.

poeticspoken so you Really got typhoid. Does it ever go away? I think it is a long lingering illness. I am sorry that sounds terrible. Travelled to China or rural Africa??

Loanlady,
this happened almost ten years ago, my typhoid experience. It is from water.

gypsyredhead you can still get pillows if you beg. The are the crummiest little piece of foam with a sticky nylon cover, only useful as a lumbar cushion- No person would want to put their face on the cover.

Scriber I would think you of all people were not concerned with germs.

poeticspoken OH that was you on the plane back in May! Is not the typhoid contagen more related to drinking water? Tell me you were not the stewardess spitting in the water pitcher. Sorry for not being politcally correct, "the airline attendant" rather than stew.

symphony you are the kindest! I can see you jetsetting to the Coast  of Portugal for some sunshine with the babies, you deserve a trip.

Now that is a great idea!
Then again, they stopped giving out pillows to reduce cost, so chances are it'll never happen.

gypsyredhead  thinking the airlines could put the masks right next to those throw up bags, and then I would not need to enforce the illness check line.

LoanDoc--you are thinking. I hate it when I have to be associated with
unprotected cold sufferers. I want protection.

posted by scriber on March 7, 2005 at 10:24 AM | link to this | reply

Yes I have, and it only got worse by the end of the flight.
Once I was flying with typhoid, I thought I had gotten rid of it completely, but I was wrong!

I have never flew before
but if I did....I would not get on with a cold or flu

LoanLady... Hey I'd take a mask from you!
I hate sitting on a plane with anyone sick. I just know I'm going to end up with it!
