Food4Thought, I agree with you completely, and it is a pet peeve of mine. Too often, humanity is used as an excuse, as in "we are only human". When our flaws and faults and weaknesses are exposed, we say we are demonstrating our "humanity." But I would say that we are demonstrating our LACK of humanity at such times.
You and I have a different definition of humanity. One that separates us from the animals with our intelligence, compassion, moral integrity, and our striving to better ourselves. Those who act like predatory animals should be treated as such.

I don't know...
If I had to drop an intruder whether I would consider it a case of killing another human. If they are human, then need to act like humans, not marauding animals. Let's hope none of us ever has to answer that question.

Sounds like a very true case of self-defense there. I hope they weren't hurt too bad .... mentally then I mean. How can one deal with it to have killed a person, even with the law at your side? It must be so hard on them!! See you around! VOYAGER9940
