Saul Relative,
I have used that quote in many writings and rantings! You are the first to ask it's origin! Good catch! I hate myself for not remembering the date and being too lazy to look it up! But it is public record! Go to his "I can't think of any mistakes" Press Conference!

Also, Glennb,

DarkeThoughts has a point.  Dubya seeing himself as a hero on the world stage and as a defender of democracy against a terrorist-filled world, a six-gun crusader against the barbaric Saracens, fits well with the image he tries to promote of himself as the last John Wayne, cowboy hat and all.

Puerile melodramatic grandstanding, simply stated.

Glennb, scoop is probably correct

in his assessment of Dubya's motives.  But I'll add this:  Dubya also saw as a smear on his father's record his stopping 100 miles from Baghdad and allowing Hussein to stay in power, therefore prompting Bush the Younger to cleanse the Bush name.

One thing is certain:  Dubya fully intended to invade Iraq before becoming president, regardless of justification.

Also, just where and when did Dubya make the comment about the 'brown' race?  Not calling you out, because we all know the idiot is capable of saying just about anything, just curious.

DarrkeThoughts,
This is not a "war"! George Bush named it for his purposes. Believe me a war is not something the World Community embrace.

You-look-Fabulous
"Brown Race cannot govern themselves"! Those are Bush words not mine!

Scoop,
The Bush wealth is about control of oil! Take it away and they are living in Newark, NJ!

Ariala,

Thanks for the response! It is not about motive. Since the gas lines of the seventies america has had in the planning a takeover of Arab oil!

I don't think he's so much after "war" as a place in history as a hero.  War is just a convinient means to obtain that goal.  Pity the little people who will pay for his meglomania, eh?

Brown.  What does it mean to each of us individually?  That is the true question.

Glennb I have had this thought

I believe Bush wanted to go into Iraq before he was elected.

He wanted to do it to defend his daddy from when old Saddam wanted to take out Bush #1. Curious George, the child, was looking for an excuse.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 matter of fact most of the financial backing came from Saudi Arabia and the WMD was his excuse. And one has to wonder when he says, "Knowing what I know today we still would have gone on into Iraq." - George W. Bush, 8/2/04, MSNBC

That statement says it all.

And one has to also wonder what does he have in store for us in the next four years?

Good post...one questions the motives, that's for sure.
