DeadMan, I had a feeling you would relate.
Many of us who have been there still love blood rites. There is something primal and ritualistic....purifying even...about it. I thought you might get this on a level others might not. Like, it's natural and not natural all at the same time. I'm glad you are through those cold days.

Caught a glimpse of FactorFiction's comment and, yes, powerful is the word that comes best.
In a darker time in my life, I used to cut myself for release. Truth be told in this. I understand how it "helped", (and I now use that word "helped" very loosely), and your comparison to the full balloon and the kettle leaves me in awe to how I felt back in those cold days. Very good work.

Very powerful...I've been there, letting the pressure out so I wouldn't be suicidal. But then it can become addictive too, and you begin to wonder if you are able to control it or not.
