Kepi is right, actually-- I was in the costume business for a while,
or I probably would never have learned that!  I learned it in reference to the little slouoched caps of the Civil War uniforms.

Dear Kingmi, no, I mean the hat, that military officers wear. It's translated kepi here in my dictionary. Not sure if it's a correct translation though! VOYAGER9940
