Tapsel-T - You're probably right. Recently I have been seeing some people state that others predicted 2005 for the emergence of AI, but maybe they were not talking about Vinge. Thanks -Arthur (Mentifex)

Vinge said 30 years in 1993. Do you think things have speeded up even faster than he predicted? According to his prediction we would still have 15 - 20 years to wait.
