. . . but you're coming across as implying Saddam's invasion of Kuwait was a good thing. What really happened, faithful reader, was he invaded and looted a sovereign neighbor, he set fire to its oilfields when his army was driven out, and we screwed up by not finishing him off then and there.

Well Saddam Hussein invaded and had a working and functioning government up and running the next day! Without firing a single shot! Grow Up!

Glenn, to refresh your memory, the Americans I refer to were captured in the liberation of Kuwait. Read it again – tortured by Saddam’s regime. Or was the liberation of Kuwait without cause?
Damon, you missed my point. Absolutely not comparing our heroes to terrorists. The comparison is in the wildly contradictory positions on reparations for Iraqi inmates and tortured Americans.
