Thanks for stopping by, Straightforward.

But I don't beleive he should ever get out of prison, because a young homicidal psycho- or socio-path will only become an older psycho- or socio-path, regardless if he enjoys the walls of a sanitarium, a prison, or the comforts of his own home.  As for 30 years in prison, it is not enough for the two lives he's taken.  He will get to live his own, no matter what his final fate is.   On top of that, rehabilitation has been proven ineffective, recidivism being at somewhere around 80% or better.

Young or not, he's a cold-blooded murderer.  He should go to prison for life.  If the death penalty is too much for you (and it's not for me, in this case), life in prison should be just about right.  There's nothing "tender" about what he did to his grandparents, with all due respect...

Unfortunately, Voyager9940,
he will probably end up with a reduced sentence here also, due to special interests groups regarding his age and mental well-being, the much lamented overcrowding of prisons here also, and good behavior.  He'll probably do about 10-15, if that, and if the appeals don't work.

I know how you feel about the grandparents...
But don't you think that as a child even this thrity years is simply too much and what kind of a person will he be at 45 when all he's known are the prison walls from a tender age? He should be under some reformation process and upon a satisfactory medical certificate out at the earliest. That, in my opinion is better than being out at 45.

Stunning facts! I immediately had to think that if he was to be trailed in Belgium, he would have gotten 30 years. Due to a law, automatically that will be diminished to 1/3 of the time (prisons are way overcrowded here) if he behaves well. 10 years left. During that time, he can appeal for earlier release which is easely granted with good behaviour and thus he could walk out in about 6 to 8 years. This is not fiction, but real true facts!!!
