This is what I had to say elsewhere about V-Day:
Frankly, I do not celebrate Valentine's Day, because I think it is a bullshit, commercialized,contrived Romantic Holiday. I think it puts a lot of pressure on people involved in relationships, and an unnecessary void for many that are uninvolved, especially those newly uninvolved.
I don't think anyone should need Hallmark to tell them when it is time to have a Special Day of Love.

...got this figured last night. We're going to ignore it, for all the reasons you mention. (Though you can't call flowers 'cheap' when the flower industry, with their hearts filled with love and compassion, double their prices around valentine's day and mother's day. Bunch of twats).

chris--My sentiments exactly--and I'm married and deeply in love
