On tracking readership

I have a different opinion about readership. One must understand that persons who have limited education or do not have much experience about the world except their own locality tend to read pure non sense or notes abusing politicians, nations etc for which Yahoo Message Boards are good enough. In short mostly illiterate folks tend to judge others by their own levels. What's the point if an uneducated bailjumper reads someone's story? Readership is always select where every type of subject is covered. A musician can only understand music. A sailor doesn't know anything except his ship. Yes, people go by what others read or what prize a person gets. They'll buy the book but not read it.

Instead of going on and on with the soap , I think real readership is via networking of like minded persons. Common courtesy and Chivalary are things of the past. They are medieval. Breeding has gone down the drain. You say "hello" to a person , the only answer you get is a BLANK LOOK. Of what good are such readers?

In short: Don't bother about readership. Try finding out like minded persons and form a network and read each other's creations and improve upon them. Ignore wannabee writers!

Best of luck

I too have a better picture now of my readership as it is difficult
to gauge from the number of comments as a couple of readers are lurkers!
I've also started a blog on blogging called blog brag blow which reflects a sense of what i feel about blogging or get from it!

Oh, Brian...heavy sigh....
I checked into this new tracking thing and alas "none" seems to be the amount I am up to...maybe tracking readership wasn't such a great idea...

Thanks for this! I wondered how many readers came by without leaving
comments, and now I will know!

Good work------
And it was good that you made this announcement and attached it to the Blogit Write link.  It does seem to be necessary to stick a thing like this in peoples' faces in order to get it read.  When something new comes up, people go into a panic and start talking rumors.  Somehow rumors always have a negative, paranoid, essence that grinds away at morale.  Kudos.
