They don't do as well, maj, need more moist air or something. I tried them
and very, very few came up or got very big, tiny and weak. I love them in CA, however.

California poppies
Try some of those. They might naturalize, they can become perrenials, and if birds eat the seeds they get stoned. Many colors and forms now.
