Women taking over the world
Mandinka We girls all know it is a made up holiday and we did most of the making and promoting. This goes to my theory on how women are planning to take over the world. So the next time you go to dinner with your dear heart and she goes with another woman, be careful because that is one of our planning meetings on taking over the world. You'll recognize the signs next time when they come back to the table all smug.

My favorite one so far

I was reading your entries for best idioms and this one by far is my favorite because I happen to utter it like your x husband about a week prior to valentines day every year. I got lectured by my girlfriend when I tried to convince her that valentine's day was not really a holiday and it should not be nationally recognized.

Hallmark Holidays

Sure they are marketing ploys and very successful ploys at that, but, what's wrong with a day that provides an opportunity to show someone special how you feel about them. We all get caught up in the daily grind and don't always show our appreciation to the ones we love. I'm not talking about buying diamonds or big ticket items, but a card, a rose, a romantic dinner for two are all nice ways to say I'm thinking of you.

That's wonderful! Those cards are priceless gems. Did he make one for the album too? I collect important card mementos and place them in photo albums along with the normal pics.

Ben.

It's usually a Saturday in October
Maybe the 2nd or third, as I am not sure. We have it here in Michigan; I thought it was nationwide.

Hallmark invented Valentine's
And so did the chocolate confectioners. Same with Sweetest Day. I really don't care for those 2 holidays!
