As I posted in another comment elsewhere, it seems to be a tenet of liberalism that whatever program the government comes up with is automatically good and worthwhile. What evidence do you offer that the targeted programs are not redundant or unsuccessful, as the President has claimed they are in justifying the reduced levels of funding? (By the way, there seems to be some confusion about just what some of these funding cuts are. If a program was to have, say, a 10% funding increase but gets only a 2% increase instead, that is not a cut in funding as the liberal media and politicians claim it is.)
