Hmmmmmm,
they must have missed all the research being done that unequivocably demonstrates children are better off remaining celibate before marriage, that there is less sexual ambiguity amongst children raised in a two parent (male/female) home, that STDs including HIV, Hepatitis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, HPV and Herpes would be essentially nonexistent if everyone was in a monogamous and faithful relationship (as well, for the celibate teen), etc, etc.
Of course, I will be labeled as a judgmental spoil sport. But hey! One thing's for sure -- a celibate or monogamous lifestyle won't be contributing to the worsening drug resistance we in the medical community are seeing. People seem curiously clueless as to the facts about drug resistance (i.e. increasing with Gonorrhea and Chlamydia), the causal relationship between HPV (genital warts) and cervical cancer, not to mention the chronic and communicable nature of the Herpes and Hepatitis viruses. Oh yeah, and then there's HIV and AIDS. But what do I know? I'm just a stupid nurse practitioner who obviously is clueless going up against all these brainy smart Ph.D types who don't appreciate the moral values the State of Texas is attempting to teach.
