Pappy, I don't know what your
physical condition is so I won't know. But wouldn't you prefer a light heart over light feet?

Friar Tuck
How long must I carry around this body of death? My body wants to dance, but its feet sometimes hurt. I'd gladly trade it in for the lighted model.

Haven't you read St Paul?
Although the exterior man dies from day to day, our inward man is renewed. That is the power of the Spirit working. "And their strength shall be renewed like the eagle" says too the psalmist. But of course, one might say, this is just "too spiritual." Thing is, what happens to the soul affects the body. If the soul is alive in God, the body will follow.

It is the 'die daily' that I have the most trouble with. Knowing that my body will die one day, maybe even today, is not quite enough. The head understands, but the body, like a child does not. I rejoice and lament with every breath? Where is the peace in that?
