I Believe That, Whatever Heaven Turns Out To Be...

...it will, for sure, be a state-of-mind where no sort of barrier stands between us and being able to fully feel God's unconditional and perfect love!!!

I had a dream about Heaven when I was very young.

This big, tall escalator came out of the clouds, and Mommy, Daddy, and I climbed on board and were taken up, up, and up until we got to Heaven.

Even though we lived way out in the country at the time (these days, part of our property to the north is in the city limits), a couple of the roads out our way still had city names.

We lived on Columbus Avenue, and the next road/street next to us was Main Street.  Even farther from the city limits, the roads were called Columbus Avenue Road and Main Street Road.

Anyway, I was expecting to see something really different in Heaven.

Instead, we still had Columbus Avenue and Main Street--with the only difference being that the houses that were on Columbus Avenue were now on Main Street and the houses that were on Main Street were now on Columbus Avenue.

And that was all I saw of Heaven before I woke up and decided that this was a pretty nutty dream.

As I got older, though, I came to understand the meaning of the dream.

Heaven isn't a particular place.  It's a state-of-mind!

It's a new and better way of looking at the same things in a lot of ways--but, of course, it's also a limitless version of exploring the universe.

When our spirits leave these good-of-kind but temporary-and-limiting bodies that are only meant for a certain phase of learning, we will have a freedom like we can never remember having before.

We can make our own music as well as listen to the music of mere flesh-and-blood humans with greater understanding and appreciation.

If we wish, we can swim to the bottom of the ocean and explore the Titanic--while joined by those who were actually there!

We can fly through the air with The Challenger Crew and share so much more beauty and adventure than even they would have experienced as mere mortals had their January 28, 1986 flight gone as planned!  And we won't even need a spacecraft!!!

We can go to Third-World countries and give starving and frightened children there at least the comfort of our kisses and caresses.

No, we won't be simply sitting around on fluffy clouds playing harps--though we might be doing some of that, too--but will become in the greatest way possible comforters and co-creators with God!

And we'll be reunited with those who have gone on before us!

It will be a wonderful state-of-mind to finally reach--but we need to also realize that our current life isn't chopped liver, either.

We're learning things here that we need to learn, and we're also learning to love the simple pleasures of this life, even if we ARE in the dial-up stage while Heaven is even way beyond cable modem!!!

Amen & Amen!!!

Blessings!
AJ

Pappy, you're welcome!
Glad you could come.  And I agree -- the voice sounding like many waters will be so impressive!  I'm always so amazed when I'm with my parents in CA and we spend time at the ocean.  Hearing the roar of the Pacific probably doesn't even come close!  Thanks all for stopping by.

Ha! At least 10,000 times better, word.smith!

Should be pretty awesome, eh?

Thanks for the show, Jane
I want to hear the voice that sounds like many waters.

Sounds lovely.
I can't even begin to think about what heaven will really be like. It'll probably be 10,000 times better than anything I could imagine!

Hi Experience!
Thanks for commenting.  For the past 5 years I've attended a Wesleyan church.  It's quite large with a lot of programs and such, but I love the music.  I sing in the choir and am in a French horn ensemble there, and love it!  Thanks for stopping by.

Yes PastorB,
I well know that song, and love it!  We did not sing it last night, but I love when it comes on the radio.  Thanks for stopping by!

Praise and Thank God

Yes Praising God in song and dance. I enjoy those kinds of concerts. So what church do you come from? I would like myself to go to a praising God church. But also a church who believes in a God who prays together as a congregations not seperating because of who you are or how much money you give.

Please visit my blog writings as well. And give me your comments.  Thank You

JanesO, this is awesome!
Have you heard the song by "Mercy Me"; "I can only imagine"? That song and this post brings such a wonderful mental picture to my mind about what we have to look forward to in Heaven! Our minds can not even begin to fathom what that will be like! Talk about anticipation!
