- Go to Fahrenheit 911 gets snubbed in the Oscars!
Wow, Blanche, you dug up an old thread here!
I was unaware that nominees could pick and choose their categories. Be that as it may, you have two entirely different cases here.
Farcenheit 911 was rot, but I was really surprised that it got shut out.
The Passion of the Christ was shut out because Christianity is verboten in much of the movie and other entertainment elite.

In all fairness...
it should be pointed out that Michael Moore CHOSE to have his film entered in BEST PICTURE category, competing against dramas like Milion Dollar Baby & The Aviator. He eschewed the documentary category, which he would surely have won (as he did for "Bowling For Columbine") .
BTW, the SCLM (so-called liberal media) also dissed the Passion of the Christ, Mel Gibson's huge religious hit, with no major award nominations. Does this mean it was a bad film?

Gee, Mark, looks like John "Flipper" Kerry has some competition in the aquarium!
Damon, there is an annual award for best documentary. Here's a link with this year's nominees.

Thanks for reading! Frankly, I was shocked to see this. I thought the Hollywood liberals would be fawning over it.

No way it should it have been nominated anyways!
This wasn't the Emmy's. There was no Best Comedy category!
