Actually, I think it should be "one 'country', united because of acceptance of our diversity, strong because of our diverse religious beliefs or lack thereof and with the freedom to express such, with liberty and justice for all." I'll still hold to that last.
However, as with so many of the ideals, we are far from reaching this one; in reality, we are moving as far away from it as possible as fast as we can it seems.
many are excluded from the "liberty and justice" clause, making that an out and out lie.
it's been that way for quite some time -- lots of injustice.
We continue believing that there is justice for all, then we will close our eyes to the injustices.
I feel a post coming on.

Maybe it could/should be ammended to read as, "One Nation, Under Individual Spiritual Interpretation, Divisible by Individual Pursuits of Truth and Happiness, With an Intent of Providing Liberty and Justice to all."
What do you think?
