Cognac
It is correct that a mysterious visitor leaves a half-bottle of cognac and roses on Poe's grave every year. Here's the link I found:

I believe that is true.
I also heard something on the radio this morning about a bottle of cognac, but I didn't catch the whole thing. It's a mystery; no one knows who it is. I'm going to look for more on the Net tonight. Thanks for reading.

Witchflower - this was a great post! I love Poe.
I've heard that every year on this day many people visit his graveside and in the middle of the night someone always leaves one red rose. Do you know if there is any truth to this?
