Declining national birthrate? What?
Like that could happen.  Besides - would it be so bad anyway?  What's so great about overpopulation?

Thanx sannhet
Yeah, some of the other voices have been heard a lot around here lately.

Gome -
Great post. I knew that were a couple of other sane thinkers on this topic, but I was beginning to wonder if any would show up.

Yep kooka_lives -- that pretty well sums it up
The same old thought processes regurgitated again and again throughout history.

Good post
Every time I try to defend homosexuals I get accused of being one and that is the only possible reason I could ever have to defend homosexual rights. It is amazing at how much these people wish to believe their own BS about just what accepting homosexual will cause. Of course once the homosexual issue is finally put to rest they will find some other group to put the blame on for all of those problems and we will see the same dance happen yet again. These are practically the same arguments that were used when women wanted rights and when blacks wanted rights. We have seen this dance many times and luckily it always seems to end the same, with human rights protected and intolerance kicked in the balls. Too bad it is never enough to get rid of intolerance altogether.

renigade3 -- my thoughts exactly
It really is a shame when an individual who holds a great deal of public influence sounds off like this. Too many people still give his words too much credence simply because he is the person making the statements.

Your bishop sounds like a moron.
How 'bout putting good Christian principles to use and (with the declining birth rate) adopt children from other countries who need homes?  Now there's a thought.

Well put Talion
I'm just longing for the day that all of this stuff is put aside and real societal issues are dealt with.

I've thought long and hard about how a couple of gay guys getting married in Boston can have a negative impact on my marriage. It certainly isn't affected by what they do in their bedroom and how they do it. I could come up with only one conclusion. Said gay guys would have to fly down to Memphis and murder my wife. That's the only way they could destroy our union, but it's a completely different crime that would have nothing to do with sexual preference.
