very intense poetry.

Taps, thanks. The aim of a poem is to elicit emotion, but I do write about some sad subjects, and then I feel bad if I make people sad...

Its OK, Quirky.  I didn't mean to make you feel badly.   It has been 16 years and I still think of him/them often.  After two years of being a widow with a baby, my daughter-in-law married again to a fine man and a very good stepdad.   He does not try to take David's place but is like a fifth son to me.   He is the only daddy that Peter has ever known.  He was only three months when his dad died.

Taps, sorry to bring up painful memories. It is very sad when things like this happen.

Quirky this is good but very sad for me.  I read it and think of my daughter-in-law writing that at age 22 as my son slipped away after only one wonderful year of marriage and one year of fighting for his life the cancer that came from no where so suddenly and would not be denied its way.

Quirky...
This is one of your best I think.  It is wonderful.  Vivid, powerful, lyrical, all the elements of a great poem.  Well done...

GAH! ACK! ARGH! WAA!

(have I forgotten any?)

hehehe...sorry to interupt..."pome" is a fruit...so the dictionary says!!
pome
A type of fruit characteristic of apples and pears. The flesh of the fruit develops from the receptacle of the flower, which completely encloses the fused carpels. After fertilization the carpels form the `core' of the fruit, which contains the seeds. See also pseudocarp.

That is a great idea, and just what I need in my effort to downsize...to birth another blog brat!!

Quirkems, perhaps you should start a blog where people come up with
definitions for made up words.  It would be fun.

Ari, but that always makes for interesting typos. And pome was a goody!

Quirky, I don't know how to type is the issue here.

Ariala,
I looked up "pome" just to make sure you didn't know something I wasn't aware of.

Ariala,
Thanks for the correction!! I've fixed it...btw, lol at pome...or is that the "new" way to spell poem??

Touching pome with some good imagery. The word "be" is missing
in one of the last few sentences.
