Kingmi - sorry - that should be "Guadalupe".

This is so profound! Kingmi, have you read the story of Our Lady of Guadelupe and Juan Diego?  It helps me find peace in all of this.

Kingmi, a great entry for the challenge! This was sort of like a cross between poetry and prose.....but you have great strength with imagery and word combinations.....well done!

I've Both Written & Read Poems About This Irony...

...and yours is, likely, at the top--either tying with or slightly beating Mark Lindsay's song about the Cherokees!

Write On!

Ann, I guess this is undeveloped.  What I was trying to get across was that the teacher assumed she would only go to Jr. College, as opposed to University, because she was minority.

Going to college is salvation?

Education to save the world.

A fitting message from a teacher.

Kingmi...

That was a lot of emotion you let go of there and for it to be heard and felt by others....crying is an appropriate response.

Alf and Taps, I'm crying over here. I don't know why! Thanks.

kingmi - sometimes the sad songs are the best songs.    We learn from the sad songs when our hearts are touched.
