You people are too comical
This is one of the funniest posts I have ever read on Blogit. You are posed a question for discussion in this posting then in the comments section you act like a cage full of gerbils all trying to get on the wheel at once. Mindless.

westwend I apoligize for starting this on your post
in as it has nothing to do whatsoever with your topic and should not have been handled in public in the first place. I also apoligize if I come across as rude or arrogant to you in any way in the past.

Justso, I see your point. I take it graciously.

I would rather leave this on one of your blogs than on an open blog belonging to someone else if you don't mind. I thank you for your words of apology and I certainly forgave you for your action at the time. I too am very serious and constant in my faith and study. I will give up my way of seeing a scripture when a Christian will take the time to show me with kindness where I am wrong, not in talking down to me or criticizing me in the company of the non believer.

one thing though
in what way do I play in patches that are more tares than wheat? I am interested in what you mean by that. Why did you not bring up such harshness to me before?

well, of course I have flaws and maybe my language is innappropriate

and presumptive sometimes. For that I apoligize. I am always open to take correction for my missteps. However, I belive what I believe strongly and I do not think that is neccessarily arrogant. I also understand people have differences on scripture and it can be very touchy so lets just leave these differences be and let God deal with ant error that may be present in me or anyone else. So, I will take this as a rebuke from a fellow CHristian and I will be more careful in how I express my convictions in the future not only in my comments but in my posts. Thank you for your honesty Justsouno.

I do understand and I still think you are arrogant and wrong about a lot of things. I do not need you to withold anything for the sake of my feelings. I do not think as you appearantly do, that you are the conduit of all God's word to his people. When you peel away some layers of pride you may be better able to contend with some of us other Christians. You appear to play more in the patches heavily laden in tares than wheat.

another point
J.O. also said Satan presently has " free reign" over the earth. That also is incorrect. Christians are the authority in the earth and possess authority over satan.

I know she did not intend to imply that God and the devil work together. But the fact is well meaning Christians do it all the time.   Satan is Gods enemy, not His collegue. We know by scripture that God is light and there is no darkness in Him. Of course I have read Job. Job is constantly being touted as proof that God let satan beat up Job( and thus Christians) for some inexplicable reason in order to, I guess, teach us some lesson.  Please, I am not arrogant for challenging these religious ideas about God that are not based on the truth of the scripture. Neither do I think I am "special". I understand your feelings here, but you are wrong in these suggestions about me.

Question:  How can God ever expect us to trust and rely on Him if He lets the devil attack us every once in a while for no reason. Well, he does not sick satan on us like a tool of discipline and retract him before he goes to far. The Bible DOES NOT teach this. One thing to consider, Job took place in the Old Testement while the devil still had the power of death. Jesus had not redemmed mankind from his hand yet. Its not that God " allowed" satan to attack Job( or anyone else) just to settle an argument. What kind of Parent does that with their child? The very notion contradicts scripture. The Holy Ghost is the teacher of the Church( like you said yourself), not the devil in any way. The bottom line is christians for a long time have believed and said things about God that are just not true. How do I know? the Holy Spirit taught me. I appreciate your kind comments to my posts over time and believe you to be a sincerly warm person, but I will not comprimise my convictions for the sake of not stepping on someones toes about their " version" of Gods word that is erroneous.

I wrote a post about this subject, check back on it if you like because it might explain what I am trying to say a little better:  WORRY AND FEAR CONNECT YOU TO DISEASE, DEATH, LOSS AND DESTRUCTION.

I personally disagree with you. Perhaps you should read Job. You should also understand that Jesus said the Holy Spirit would teach us. There are places when we can (not change a word) but fill and round out a concept of the word. I find this to be arragontly spoken to another Christian as if you had a special annointing to be alone in speaking of the Word. I read all your work and I read Janes and I protest that she has slandered the word as you said.

Janes, there is nothing in the bible
that indicates God has satan on a leash. That implies God and satan work together. that is a slander against God you should be aware of.

You have a total right to your belief. That is the basis of American standard on religion. You don't need to believe like me or her or him or anybody. You should never be hasseled about expressing or experiencing your religion in this country. I have my own set of beliefs as well and I should be able to believe them without harrassment, name calling or any sort of pressure.

Westwend,

to loosely paraphrase some verses from the Bible, I believe it would be more appropriate to state that God has Satan on a leash.  There will come a time when God will yank his leash and haul in the beast, and he will no longer be allowed free reign over the earth.  But that's just my humble opinion and what do I know?  I'm just a Christian.

Westwend,
i think people first believe what they need, then grow to believe what they can.

I think a lot Christians try to convince people that God is beyond what we limit him in terms of describing him.  Yet, that's what they do based on what they read in the bible.

What do I think?
I think someone is way off base. I do read his posts, and like them for the most part. But some of his core beliefs I really tend to disagree with. On pretty much all of the points you listed there.
