yes, I remember
but that was not imposed on them by any federal government. They did it out of their own individual volition and consenses in the context of the Church. It was there CHOICE to do it, not their obligation to the govenment so that the GOVENMENT could take care of the people. They took care of the people out of personal conviction and redistributed as they saw fit, not as the govenment saw fit. This is STILL capitalism.

you're not cynical
you're a socialist. Why dont you just say it loud and proud? Im a capitalist and Im proud of it. And yes I am a Christian and a capitalist at the same time.
And you know what else? Socialist values and Christianity are incompatible. Socialism relies and obligates the GOVERNMENT to provide for all peoples. Capitalism relies on God given talents, courage and dreams ( that every human possesses) to provide for the individual and allows the individual to pursue it. Out of that capitlaistic wealth then comes in the Christian command to give to the poor as the individual sees fit, not the Government.
