I don't remember much of it, I was still a kid when I saw it,
but I remember mostly this guy (James Caan) driving a really horny car and just driving and driving at top speed in the desert somewhere, and all these people trying to stop him, to no avail, until they set up a roadblock with bulldozers...and he just drove right into them...I guess that was the vanishing point...I think it reminded me of that movie because I kept expecting for something like that to happen...
In any case, you got my attention with that one...I'd love to read more...

Tx Chris..I am rewriting for a zillion time my screenplay and I thought
that I would give it a try on blogit. We shall see...the opening scene is so important. I'm not sure if I ever saw the Vanishing Point. Tell me more about it to rattle my memory. Love, Vib
