I read this one and the last post about the Ten Commandments. I don't like that some people (many in the U.S.) think you have to be religious to be moral. I am basically agnostic with regard to which doctrine or divine vision is true. It's beyond me. But reason avails itself to us free of charge, so let's take advantage!

i believe you are compassionate toward people, and, as we all are, particularly toward people who have suffered at the hands of tyrants.
my issue is with GWB -- and we are all affected by his policies (or should I say, rather, the policies of those who, behind the scenes, are directing policy).

does it ever occur to you west
that maybe I care about the people that have been set free from that monster, child torturing, raping Saddam Hussein and I actually care crap less about Bush, politics of the war and conservatives. Or is it only 'liberals' who are capable of compassion?
