As to whether or not they know what they are doing...

Sure they do...and have for years..ie. The only justifcation for Dan Quaille on the ticket in 1988

 is the lowering of Expectations that allowed " W " to even appear Presidential...

No Accident...not random...calculated...

The motives may be Pro USA..Pro.Big Money USA..

.but our standard of living should, Relative to the rest of the world,

be benefitted in a trickle down kinda way...

The public is to busy Hating the French

 than considering  the bigger questions that are raised by them and others as to what

the New Normal should look like Globally...

Mao's understanding of the control over the Educational system is control over the masses

is understood here to. Our best long term solution is to

Regain local control of our schools , care about what our kids are taught ,

pass on our own understandings of what The Bill of Rights really meant to 

We The People...

Not Going to Happen easily...Revulutionary thought ...change from within...

These battles are for the Idealism of Youth...

A generation of MTV ers that are more concerned with

Good to See You Back!

The possibility that Blair lied to the British people over the WMDs is only just hitting the newspapers here. What I don't understand is - how come we saw through these lies months ago, and the rest of the population are JUST waking up to it...a bit. Are we really so much more awake than the average? Or are we just more willing to face reality?

As for the economics, I've been forseeing a MAJOR economic meltdown since 2001, and the signs it's coming just get stronger. I'm not talking Depression. I'm talking about something way bigger, on an altogether different scale of chaos. What if the dollar devalues massively? What if all oil trading starts happening in Euros? What happens if any remaining trust in the markets is blown away completely by another handful of Enrons? What if the excpected Big Quake strikes in Tokyo and closes that market down? And so on. What I haven't even considered, up to reading your post, is that this kind of meltdown may be exactly what's being planned from the top!!

The question is - are those in power really as stupid as they're behaving (and if so, how did they get to where they are?) OR do they know exactly what they're doing, which begs the question - to what end?
