Daisy, that's tough....
I don't know if this'll help but garlic is an excellent means of relief when I have an upset stomach. What you do is cut a clove into to pill size or smaller and swallow it with some water. It works quickly and works everytime.

Frankenkitty, Cynthia, Temple..

Thanks..  I just went to buy some Ginger Aid tea... we'll see if that works...  I do watch what I eat..  I'm basically vegan, with the exception to some dairy..   I'll check out the gaviscon..  The heart burn didn't seem too bad today... knock on wood..  then again..it mostly keeps me awake at night.. SIGH....

I know you worry about aluminum, but this small amount of time will be ok.
Try Gaviscon.  It's stronger and it's supposed to work better...I asked my best friend who is in nursing school, has been a medical assistant for 10+ years and pregnant twice, once with really bad heartburn.  Ginger ale is good....you can make your own....or even your ginger tea.  Feel better sweetie.

Listen to your body
You are right to be concerned. In my pregnancy my body would not let me drink coffee (even though I drank it all day long when I was not pregnant.) and even the site of raw meat to prepare for dinner made me ill. I'm sure you monitor your diet. But???

Ginger or ginger ail
is said to relieve heartburn.  Maybe lactic acid is causing the problem? Sometimes during pregnancy the body changes. I had awful reactions to MSG while pregnant, which I've never had before.  Good luck with this, I know the heartburn hurts!    Take care!
