I sort of agree with you....in that it is not a good thing to have fear....however in some situations it can be a healthy thing too....that is why we have the 'fight or flight' response to fear...it helps us remove ourselves from dangerous situations....or fight against it. No fear of people is sort of the same as trust in people....and trust must be earned. Even then....it should not be mistaken for safety, as those our children trust most are often those who have the most power to hurt them.
Unfortunately in today's society I think we have to teach children to be very aware of people and to trust their insticts or intuition where people are concerned. How we teach them these things is very hard without instilling some sort of fear of strangers, or people with whom they feel instinctively uncomfortable.
