Great Aunty Grace and Aunt Jemima could do lunch...
I wish you'd just send the food, but if you insist ... I can try to make this banana cake. It sounds wonderful ; and I love that it has an official sounding name, "Great Aunty Grace's Banana Cake"... which I will alter to "Great Aunt Grace's Australian Banana Cake". hehehe.

No ISN
It is banana CAKE and the tin is round....although I guess it could be square...or rectangular. We get banana bread at Brumbys and it is nothing like my banana cake - trust me! I spread it with lemon laced icing and each slice is probably only 10 cm high (2 inches?). You wouldn't blaspheme it with butter, like you do with banana bread. I can give you the recipe if you want to try...I'm sure Great Aunty Grace wouldn't mind going international.

I had to wait for you to WAKE THE HELL UP, so you can wait till one of the kids naps! lol. So it is banana bread, then? Is the tin shaped like a loaf of bread? I love banana bread...

Oh dear me...
Alf, it is worse than I thought. We must be related. My parents break into Enterprise dialogue on a regular basis as though it were completely normal. And the movies? Silly! My mom will say somethinglike "paychecks" , and my dad will say, "humpbacks?" and my mom says, "people?" ... it's just embarassing beyond words...

At last...someone to talk to! It gets very boring around here sometimes! A banana cake is made out of flour, sugar, milk, bananas-very ripe) vanilla essence and butter. The one I make is an old recipe handed down by my Great Aunty Grace and is absolutely delicious. It does not rise well as I put lots of bananas in...so it is very dense and moist and absolutely mouth watering. I wish it would last for longer than 5 minutes once it's cooled though!

ISN...My brother is worse than me.  He can draw a perfect to scale enterprise in under a  minute.  He carved one with a chain saw one time too.

I promise it isnot! They are insane. But, my dad occassionally drops quarters without noticing, so I have a fund for gambling...

Oh Alf... if you only knew...
the amount of crap i took in high school for my entire family claiming (lying! and swearing to it!) to dates and friends that I could speak Kilingon.... even now, when we're all together and some outsider comes into the group, my brother says, "Hey, Holly, why don't you tell us that Klingon joke, it is hilarious!" .Ridiculous. My family is insane, Alfie, but I get the feeling you would  fit right in.

ISN....I would fit right into your
family.  I chose my cell phone because it looked the most like a communicator.  I love star trek.  I have a huge U.S.S.Enterprise tattood on my back, (ha, not really, just seeing if you are paying attention.)

Will do, suomynona!
Although... when one bakes a banana cake, is that something MADE of bananas, or is that something SHAPED like a banana? Also, what makes it a cake and not bread? Is there sugar added? Are nuts involved (aside from the cook themselves)? And does the humidity effect the overall product? We have no humidity here, so i can safely bake all day long... not that I ever would, but it's comforting to know I could....

Room service ANYTHING is always the best. :)

that is the problem with living on the very edge of town, good view, quick access to the mountians - but you have to pack a lunch to go anywhere in the city. Oh well. Was the pizza any good?

Stay in bed. It's raining and humid and the children are all hyped up on Christmas Holiday cheer mixed with Not-Being-Able-to-Play-Outside-So-Let's-Fight boredom. We did the movies yesterday and that cost me a few thousand dollars....so we might have to bake another banana cake today. The one we baked 2 days ago was eaten in one go by the time we divided it into 6 pieces. I must buy a larger cake tin!

Merry- On a good day, with little traffic..
I can get to Peyton's pediatrician in an hour. Perhaps there is too much traffic here....snowbirds have invaded, and the going is Slllllooooowwwwwww.  Oh, and I went to Vegas as a teen also, and I ran up a HUGE room service tab and ate all the pizza I could hold. hehe, fun can be had!

I was in Vegas when I was 16... it loses some of it's appeal when you can't actually do anything! LOL! Hmmm where can I go in an hour? Vancouver BC by plane. That's about as exciting as it gets around here. Of course the Rocky Mountains are a 1 hour drive. If you love all that fatastically beautiful nature crap. LOL!

No Elvis?

Sacrilege!!! lol. We are in tucson (Arizona), and it's a quick hour plane ride or 6 hour drive - my family flies cause they can't stand to be in the car with each other that long. hehe. My parents go once a month, and my brother and his wife go when they can. I wouldn't want to go to Vegas, but I'd take a kid-free night at the local Holiday Inn any time! sleeeeeeep. :) Are you guys ahead of us or behind us (time wise)?

I think you have made the right decision staying at home.

Las Vegas! WoW!! Is that far from where you live? I know it's in Nevada....in fact hubby and I went there on our honeymoon.....but I was so jetlagged and tired after all the wedding stuff, that my memory has failed me with most aspects of that trip. It just sounds so fantastic to be able to casually drop the line "my family are off to Vegas for the weekend"....sort of like English people who can say with casual flippancy "Oh yes, while we were in Paris for the weekend".

The most exotic city I can name-drop is Sydney, an hour away by plane....but it does not have giant pink flamingos blazing with lights next to huge cowboy hats and eiffel towers. You also cannot get a meal for a dollar (well....that's how much it was when we were there....inflation has probably pushed it up a tad.). There are no famous names upon billboards and Elvis does not have a shrine to himself in the Hilton hotel.

Oh well! Guess we will have to take you up on your offer to move. How's that house hunting coming along?
