Alright...
I'll ask Dad. He's an ornery one though...

Tapsel-

That is a great idea! If my dad will let me take it off the tree- lol. He's a TAD sensitive to the issue now! :)

Aunt Jemima
is on syrup containers, and she is much like Betty Crocker- a fictional human created from a bunch of different faces ... I WISH I had an Aunt Jemima - how cool! That'd be like living next door to Mrs. Butterworth! (another syrup maven).... and  the good lady rests on my parents' tree, because my dad will feel guilty forEVER and it is front and center! :)

Sanity - I love homemade ornaments (no matter how ugly, lol) especially
those made by children.   Loved your post.    I think you should scan your Aunt Jamima ornament and show it to us.

It's tragically funny and sad at the same time. Much like my life! LOL!

That is sad!! I have no idea who Aunt Jemima is? Is she your real aunt...or is she like Betty Crocker?

Anyway....it's a typically male thing....not to notice! That's how I got to pick my children's names. The first time round, hubby would screw up his face and say "Nah...don't like that at all". I would wait a few months and introduce the name again intermingled with a few others and he would say "Taylor?...now I LIKE that!"

I think I could buy a whole house of new furniture and hubby would sit on the new lounge, eat at the new table and sleep in the new bed without even a passing query.

Is the ornament now on your own tree....or still on your parents?
