Thanks, Suomynona,
the feeling is mutual; although my fanship is more like stalking - I read my 5 or 6 favorites first thing every time I log into Blogit... then I browse around and read some more! Insane nut, I am.!!

You'll be just great....no need for me to 'settle' for you...I'm your biggest fan...or one of them anyway!

Ask your Mum (Mom whatever!) when she is writing her first blog? I went looking for her yesterday after her great comment to you...and it said 'no blogs'. I was disappointed. Tell her to hurry up and write something....please?

I hate it when my hubby says he is going to COOK. I say that with capital letters, because that is how important he makes his statement sound. It's as if he is saying he appreciates my mediocre efforts all these years, but really, the time has come to show the children and myself what REAL COOKING is all about. He makes such a huge fuss. He comes home with bags of secrets that we are not allowed to look into. I am not allowed in the kitchen. We are not allowed to ask questions. We are to just sit and wait to be astounded.

Well....the last time he decided to COOK, he made OX TAIL SOUP! This was made by boiling an ox tail (I had never even heard of an ox tail....I have never even seen an ox except in those children's alphabet books under 'x') in water with a packet of those tiny frozen veggies....you know...little cubes of carrot and peas? That's it! No stock, no noodles or pasta.....just a big nasty ox tail in boiled water with some sad looking cubes of veggies floating around.

Being a great wife and the kids trying to be great kids, we all gamely took a bowl full and sipped tentatively. YUK! We all looked at each other silently....hubby took a sip....and promptly spat it back out. "This tastes like crap!"he announced....and we all burst out laughing (with relief!!) and ended up at MacDonalds. Aaah...I just realised why the kids get excited if Daddy says he is going to cook!!
