I do indeed care what people think but not for the reasons you may think. I try to give something to them which is good ( I probably fail on that count). But whatever I post it is always something close to my heart. I would rather not post anything jsut to get the numbers. If content is not important there is no point to post - better off in a chatroom.

I don't agree that most of my posts are about blogging. If you look at the past 20 posts to this blog you will see that most are about writing. It shows that people's eyes alight on anything to do with blogging and then take no notice of anything else. A couple are about blogging and a couple touch on blogging as a means to relay my points. I think many of these posts reflect where I am at and are from the heart.
Trouble is that people here seek that single point of reference and apply it to everything. I would love nothing more than for people to comment on what I think is at the heart of each post. Any mention of blogging is not usually "the thing" the post is really about.
Thanks for your kind comment.

Beach,

I read all your other comments first and I shouldn't have, because now I haven't got one that hasn't already been said. But I agree with all of them.

Beachbelle

You have asked for honesty. I believe David did that. You are a good adviser for us who are inexperienced, even the experienced, you write from the heart but you are more concerned with the other person than yourself. Give up the concern over what others think and use it involving in your own talent, experience and us; your readers. We appreciate you and what you write. I would not continue to read you if I didn't.

Only part of them are, Beach.
Hahaha.  Just kidding.  I'm still reading.

I agree with David1, Beach. Why worry about being popular or the
content too much? If you're being read, then you're doing something right. For me it's always rather simple. I either "do" or "don't" but never worry about either choice.

The problem seems to be

is that you spend an awful lot of time worrying or stressing about top blogs, or their content, or your standing among them, or what other bloggers are doing and who is clicking on who and on and on. You certainly post about them enough. It means it is a big thing for you.

You really shouldn't stress over it. Write what you feel, what you want, and let the chips fall where they may. I think anyone who has spent any amount of time reading your posts know enough about you and who you are. Don't worry about what you have to offer, just offer what you have; regardless of it's content. Everything else will fall into place on it's own!

You are
an example of someone with quality writing who is in the top ten.  Thanks for being a beacon of light.  I pray Blogit will have more and more top writers like you!

Beach..
I haven't read a single thing of yours that I'd consider crap. Your posts are insightful and generally useful. I'm in the top ten and I'd like to think I'm not there because I post crap. I write about whatever hits my fancy. I'm teaching anyone anything, nor am I pretending to. I amuse myself and hopefully a few others.

Beachy I don't think that way at all about you or others for that matter
who are in the Top Ten. I think people didn't understand my post when I pointed out that many of those Top 10 blogs always use the words "blog, blogger, blogging" in the title AND many of the time the titles are misleading as to the actual content but readers are drawn to read because of the "B" words.

You should not feel guilty for being liked.
It's not really something you can control, just like being disliked. I suppose if you feel guilty for being on the top ten, people might like you even more. Enjoy your weekend Beachbelle, I'm about to go out and play myself:) Take care!

Beach - you are, I think number two or three on my most read list. I keep coming back because you don't write crap. You make me think, enlighten me, and advise. Very few on this network can say the same.

Well, I can honestly say that your entries are not crap, not by my opinion, and you always give me some sort of encouragement and new insights.
